If you would like proof of your own voluntary student commitment, you have various options. Depending on what the proof is needed for, a social time certificate (personal work certificate), an entry in the Diploma Supplement or a performance record (simple confirmation) can be applied for at the SUB. The costs for issuing the respective certificate are borne by the SUB, provided that the applicant is a member.
The Social Time Certificate (SZA) is a personal work certificate for voluntary and honorary work. The SZA serves to prove and assess voluntary and honorary work. Acquired competences in the performance of voluntary, unpaid work should be made visible. Voluntary and honorary work should be evaluated and recognized in this way. The SZA can be attached to a job application, for example. It contains information about the person, institution, duration and type of activity, an assessment, and thanks for the commitment, always in the name of the SUB as well as the student council, group, commission, or project management.
Students who have been active in one of the following areas for at least 6 months can apply for an SZA:
Anyone wishing to apply for an SZA adapts one of the template documents listed below to their own specific work. The procedure is as follows:
A member of the SUB board signs the social time certificate and returns it to the postal address given. The SZA should be sent to the SUB at least one week before it is needed by the student. If problems arise, the "Fachschaftssekretariat" will be happy to help with issuing the SZA.
In addition to the Bachelor's or Master's degree, all students receive the Diploma Supplement. This contains detailed information on the degree and additional achievements. Volunteer student work can also be entered under these additional credits.
The same conditions apply to the Diploma Supplement as to the Social Time Certificate.
If you want to enter your own voluntary student work in the Diploma Supplement, select the appropriate template from those listed below and complete it with your own data. The following procedure applies:
A member of the SUB board signs the documents. Afterward, the "Fachschaftssekretariat" sends your documents to the Vice-Rector for signature, where the data is entered into the Diploma Supplement. The signed document is returned to you by post from the university.
If you graduate soon and need your Diploma Supplement for an application or similar, please contact the "Fachschaftssekretariat" by e-mail or telephone so that we know of the urgency. Please be aware though, that it might easily take between 4-5 weeks (counted from the day when we receive your document) until the university makes the entry into the Diploma Supplement. Therefore, please get in touch with us early enough.
For further information, please contact the "Fachschaftssekretariat".
The certificate of achievement ("Leistungsnachweis") is a confirmation of voluntary student work - thus not a certificate of work like the social time card. The certificate of achievement is required in particular for the extension of study time. If required, it can be requested from the SUB.
The conditions are the same as for the social time certificate.
The confirmation must include the full name, the function of the person (i.e. student council president, etc.) and the duration of the commitment. The document must be submitted to the SUB as a Word document with the signature of the responsible reference person (e.g. faculty student association president) by e-mail. The signature must be handwritten. Allow about 2 weeks for this. The signed document will be returned by post.
